Joan's Positions and Concerns

This is the 50th anniversary of the formation of the St Louis Community College which has been wonderful community asset.  We need to assure that it continues to be here another 50 years.

To some, STLCC is the first step toward a four-year college degree.  To others, it is the acquisition of new skills in order to meet the ever-changing job market.   To others of us it is keeping our minds alert and expanding our knowledge about the world.  And, to some it is participating in the many cultural and recreational activities.

My major concerns are keeping STLCC accessible and affordable for all, while making constructive plans for the future so it continues to serve our needs.

TOP TEN REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR JOAN FOR TRUSTEE:

  1. She will work in a collaborative effort to set policy ---  she has been recognized as someone who  gets  along well with others to get the job done.

  2. She knows the campuses--she has been a student at three of the STLCC campuses.

  3. She is not indebted to any special interest group.

  4. She has no hidden agenda—she will not play partisan politics so she can focus on what is best for the students and the tax payers.

  5. She has shown she cares about the St. Louis area for the past 28 years.

  6. She has been dedicated to education forever.

  7. She values higher education---she has a BJ and MA and has gone back to school to keep learning.

  8. She is a small business owner so she understands how important it is to keep learning new skills to stay abreast of the latest trend yet adhere to basic business principles.

  9. She worked in the corporate world so she knows how progress can be made by  setting goals to get results.

  10. She wants to make sure the STLCC is still around and vibrant when her grandchildren are ready to attend the STLCC.
